Dean Medeiros

Dean is covering for Susan Lindsay while she is away on maternity leave.

While Susan is away, Dean is responsible for coordinating CCC's events and presentations, generating information and outreach materials, and bringing the issue of climate change to youth and municipalities.

Prior to working with CCC, Dean was a development worker with an agro-ecological non-government organization (NGO) in northeastern Brazil. This region of Brazil is highly threatened with desertification and climate change will likely exacerbate the situation.

Dean's work included building the adaptive capacity of rural populations to help reduce the impacts of drought on livelihoods. Dean's work also included outreach to youth on climate change and conservation of the semi-arid forest biome, the caatinga.

Dean also worked as an Introductory Biology teaching assistant at the University of Manitoba and as a biodiversity research assistant. He is an avid naturalist and relishes opportunities to explore nature. He enjoys sharing his passion for nature and discussing ideas that reconcile resource conservation with socio-economic development.

Dean holds a B.Sc. Ecology and Masters of Natural Resources Management from the University of Manitoba.
